BMW Motorcycle Air Intake Systems
Your motorcycle's engine relies upon an optimized mixture of air and fuel to produce the power that moves you down the road, track, or path. The air intake system, also known as an air induction system, is responsible for delivering the air part of that formula to the combustion chamber.
The system itself consists of several parts. First, there's the air filter, which blocks harmful particulates and debris from passing through the system and into the engine where they can collect and cause harm. Sensors measure the air temperature to monitor how much more air may be needed, as colder air improves performance. Hoses and tubes connect the various pieces together, as well as providing a conduit for the air to reach the engine. Intake mufflers help limit noise produced during the process. Finally, covers protect all critical parts from weather and harm.
